Fern Farms Plan More Job Cuts

It has been revealed that the biggest meat processor of the country, Silver Fern Farms, plans to shed 174 more jobs. The job cuts are set to affect workers at the two of its Christchurch meatworks.

The processor termed PPCS, earlier sliced 1000 jobs in 2008. This was, when it ceased functioning at six plants, during a rationalization program.

The market capitalization of West Australian registered organizations plummeted in May, among investors' worry regarding Europe's economic miseries, the Federal Government's intended new mining tax and malleable commodity prices.
 
The latest Deloitte WA Index revealed that the shared value of these firms last month dropped by $20.7 billion, or 12.6%, to $143.8 billion.
 
Deloitte said that the WA index, which was strengthened by mining firms, experienced the biggest plunge amongst all of the main world indices during May.

After the proposals put forth by the US Senators claiming that BP has placed $20 billion in an escrow account, for the effects of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the shares of the oil giant slid 4%, toady morning.

However, President Obama has not yet disclosed the amount he expects the Company to set aside for the oil spill impacts. It is believed that he will introduce the plans in speech, tomorrow.

Indicating the amount, the Democratic Senators said that they expect it to be $20 billion or £13.6 billion.
