New Zealand Registers Trade Surplus

New Zealand experienced sixth straight month, when it posted a trade surplus and it was also the first time it experienced a surplus in the month of June since 2002.
Statistics New Zealand (SNZ) confirmed that exports while increased by 17% as compared to the last year, imports decreased by 1.6%.
Jetstar Declares Additional Flights

Jetstar had recently declared to have additional flights between Wellington and Auckland. The airlines move has been appreciated by the Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce.
The Spokesman of the Chamber, Charles Finny, disclosed that for financial growth of Wellington, it is necessary to have better transportation links.
Sheppard to Step Down As Chairman of NZSA

According to a recent report, New Zealand Shareholders Association had organized its 10th annual meeting in Auckland.
This meeting was the last one for its Chairman Bruce Sheppard, who is resigning from the post in order to become a part of Financial Markets Authority establishment Board. Currently, the FMA is headed by Simon Botherway.
Mr. Shepherd will be replaced by John Hawkins.

The latest mall by Waikato, Te Awa is in the process of making The Base one of the biggest retail centers in New Zealand. The mall has 28 stores and was inaugurated by Prime Minister John Key.
It is reported that $120 million was splurged by Tainui Group Holdings on Te Awa, which is the first stage of The Base's new center.

David Carter, Agriculture Minister has said that he would not compel the Pork Industry Board to reveal the piggeries information. He said that he did not have any constitutional role in the Pork industry Board’s Act; therefore, he would not do anything about it.
