Nice! Peaches and Mixed Fruit Products Recalled Over Concerns of Presence of Glass Particles
Milky Way International Trading Corp has initiated a recall for some of peach slices and mixed fruit under the brand Nice!
The recalled products may have glass pieces present in them and a company statement said, "Consumers could potentially be cut or injured if ingested." It's a nationwide recall and the brand was sold in Walgreens stores.
A company spokeswoman said till now there has been only one complaint of an "alleged injury" that's linked to Nice! Brand Peach Slices. There have been no complaints reported in connection with Nice! brand Mixed Fruit products.
The products with concerns potential glass pieces were sold at Walgreens in 8-ounce glass jars. The company said that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is aware of the recent recall.
Consumers who bought the products are encouraged to return the item for to the store where they bought it from for a refund. The recall notice said, "If you have any of the affected product(s) on hand, please do not consume and return/refund to place of purchase. For any questions, please contact Milky Way International immediately at 888-496-9187 Monday to Friday between 8am to 5pm PST."
The products that are under recall are Nice! Peach Slices in Light Syrup, 8-ounce jars, Item # 80894, 12/15/2017, UPC number 0-49022-80894-2 with Lot number 3700/01069.
Nice! Mixed Fruit in Light Syrup, 8-ounce jars, Item # 80896, 12/08/2017, UPC number 0-49022-80896-6 with Lot number 3700/01069. The lot numbers can be found on the neck of the jars.
