Sony looking to compete with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive with PS VR
Japanese electronics major, Sony is working on the release of its new Playstation VR that will compete with the likes of us Rift and HTC Vive in the hotly contested gaming market.
There are some concerns over the ability of the new device given its association to Playstation 4 Camera and PS4's doubted power ability. Some of the reviewers tried the new device before its scheduled launch in the month of October this year and found that the new device is worth and might be able to compete strongly with its rivals. The Rift comes with a price tag of $600, the Vive is $800 and PSVR is expected to cost around $400.
Industry experts said that even as Oculus and Vive have been officially launched by their makers but the devices have not reached homes of those who have ordered them. The contest between the fans of Rift, Vive and PlayStation VR is heating up on the internet and has spread to forums, articles and a high number of posts.
Some gaming experts have called for more cooperation and toned-down debates as all are working towards the mass adoption of VR. Some said that there are still large challenges in front of VR as a lot of technological improvements are required. Very heated fights within rivals might impair efforts to advance this technology further and might be a hindrance to its mass adoption.
