David Cameron's desperate bid to save the catastrophic NHS shake-up!

David Cameron's desperate bid to save the catastrophic NHS shake-up!Prime Minister David Cameron has ruled out the scrapping of the potentially catastrophic NHS shake-up, and he recently launched a desperate bid to convince health professionals into supporting Health Secretary Andrew Lansley's plans!

During a carefully-planned appearance at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey, the PM - with Deputy PM Nick Clegg and Lansley in tow - promised to "pause, listen and reflect" on the proposed reforms, which will witness a transfer of 60 percent of the NHS budget to GPs. However, the PM also insisted that status quo is not an option being considered by the Government.

Though several medical experts at the hospital expressed the apprehension that the reforms will wreck the NHS, the PM tried to woo them by saying that the changes do not imply that the NHS will become a US-style system, where patients are forced to "take their credit cards along to accident and emergency."

With the Department of Health refraining from confirming that the so-termed "listening exercise" would change the plans, the PM used the event to publicly reprimand Lansley for "charging ahead" with the NHS reforms without public support.

While Downing Street has stated that the "natural pause" in Parliament is being used by the Government to reassure the public about the reforms; Labour, dismissing the move as a mere publicity stunt, has called on the PM to scrap the plans altogether!
