Tech giant Apple has recently released a standalone support application - the new Apple Support app - for iOS users in the US. The app, though already available for download from the US App Store, bears a US launch date of December 14.
In announcing the launch of the new Apple Support app in the US, Apple said that the app will also be rolled out in some more countries in the next few weeks.
Prior to the launch of the Apple Support App in the US, the app was first sighted in the Netherlands App Store in November. As such, it is apparent that Apple has quietly been testing out the app in the wild for at least one month.
The new Apple Support app - which, in several ways, is an iOS port of Apple's support website - gives users the ability to access a product's technical documentation, and schedule service appointments at their closest Apple retail store. The app also provides case history information, among other assets.
Moreover, the app - which is personalized to each user - also offers users a mechanism for receiving personal support from Apple Support technicians via phone, chat or email.
