In a recent development related to the new camera-equipped 'Spectacles' glasses being sold by Snap Inc., the new corporate name recently adopted by Snapchat, the company is now selling the glasses at a new pop-up location --- Loma Vista in Northern California.
The Spectacles glasses -- which are capable of recording video that can be shared via the Snapchat ephemeral messaging app -- were first introduced by Snapchat in September this year. The glasses, priced at $130, mark the company's foray into the hardware-products arena.
The new location, Loma Vista, at which Snap is offering Spectacles through vending machines is the second-ever location at which the glasses have been made available. When the glasses were launched by Snap on November 10, the first vending machine location for the glasses was Venice Beach in Los Angeles.
The new Loma Vista location at which the vending machine for Spectacles has been placed by Snap is a small town near the sprawling Pfeiffer Big Sur state park.
With the Loma Vista location for the Spectacles vending machines being far more remote than the Venice beach location, it is apparent that, in contradiction to the prevailing theories, Snap's new glasses will probably not be made available first at big urban centers like San Francisco and New York.
