Bloomberg News has revealed in a Monday report that struggling microblogging service Twitter Inc. apparently has another potential bidder --- Walt Disney Co. The report was based on the information shared by unidentified sources familiar with the matter.
The report that Walt Disney has become the latest company to consider a possible acquisition of Twitter comes close on the heels of a last-week story by CNBC that formal bids for Twitter will soon be made by a number of tech firms, including Google and Salesforce.
As of now, the Twitter sale process is in early stages.
However, despite the fact that possibility of acquiring Twitter - which last week had $13 billion market cap - is being mulled by several companies, with Twitter also having held preliminary talks with a few of them, it is far from guaranteed that any of the potential bidders will actually end up acquiring the stagnating social-media service.
Nonetheless, with Disney emerging as one of the potential bidders for Twitter, the possible acquisition of the social networking platform will mark Disney's biggest ever technology deal, after its recent investments in Hulu and Vice, and a few other services.
