The world is celebrating the World Diabetes Day (WDD) on 14th of November, Sunday. Diabetes has become a major threat to not only India but also to the whole world. It has become a global epidemic due to which huge number of people dies every year.
India is at top spot among the countries in terms of number of diabetes patients. On behalf of the World Diabetes Day, spreading awareness will be the top priority of the health experts of the county. The health experts and activists will focus basically on education of this disease so that it can be prevented on time.
So far as the motto of WDD is concerned, it is to educate and prevent diabetes from the country and it is the theme for five years i. e. 2009-2013. But now the health experts are moving a step further and shown some desperation to avoid such a deadly disease from our country, because diabetes has become a silent killer in our country.
They are now focusing on informed decisions, to make behavioral changes, and to address the psychosocial issues so that the disease can be controlled at right time. Education is the only way to prevent the diabetes.
