Will Tatton, an architect working with Mount Maunganui-based Will Tatton Architecture Ltd has been given the prestigious national award for three units of town house built by him on the corner of Oceanbeach Road and Wairekei St, Arataki. He will be getting $10.2 million as the award money.
Besides this, Will also turned out to be a finalist for designing of a house in Rita Street, Mount Maunganui.
The event that took place last week also saw the Architectural Designers NZ Awards be given to The Rutherford Hotel in Nelson.
These national awards are a part of a series of regional award events that took place all through July. The list of the nominations was selected from all over New Zealand. It was done after these architects presented themselves at the ADNZ/Resene Design Awards Gala Dinner in Nelson.
Will said that he has been able to win the award since he has acted in a way that is different from format. Then there was Tauranga designer Brendon Gordon. These are the only two designers who have made it to the finals of multi-unit category.
