A recent report has revealed that there has been a gene found to be responsible for child obesity. This is becoming one of the gravest problems in the world recently. Child obesity is spreading like wild fire in the world and there is need for strict efforts to be made for parents to teach their children how to make healthy choices in life in order to lose weight and maintain a healthy body.
Scientists however have found a gene which might be the reason for child obesity. The gene variants might be the prime reason for a child to put an excess weight at a very young age in life and this might tend to harm his health over the long run. This discovery might soon be able to help in the appropriate cure to be found for the same. It means that using this information about the gene variants, scientists might be able to develop a cure for child obesity.
"We don't know how many gene variants are involved in childhood obesity, but we've identified the variants with the largest effect. Childhood obesity is partly in your genes. It's partly your lifestyle”, said Struan Grant, Associate Director of the Center for Applied Genomics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Parents need to make efforts to teach their children a healthy way of living. This might be one of the best ways to treat child obesity in the time to come. Determining this gene variant might be one of the first steps for finding an ideal cure for the disease in the time to come. This shall be able to help the scientists in finding effective treatments for the disease.
