It has been recently revealed in a report that young women who suffer heart attacks are at a higher risk of death. This was revealed according to a study in the American Medical Association which is of the view that women who suffer from heart attacks, while they are below the age of 65, are at a higher risk of death due to the same. This is in the case of the absence of the chest pain symptom.
In the research, there were tests on about a million patients who suffered from heart attacks and it was found that the heart attacks that lack the major symptoms are hard to diagnose and this is the reason they aren't sometimes taken seriously, leading to death of the patient.
The symptoms these women exhibited were extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea and so on, but no sign of chest pain. This is what made the diagnosis and the treatment to come late, and this sometimes becomes the cause of death for them.
It was revealed by Dr. Stacy Fisher, of the Medical Center at the University of Maryland, that it was similar in men as well and the absence of chest pain gave rise to fourfold increase in the death rates of people. Those people who didn't suffer from chest pains usually delayed seeing the doctor for their trouble, and this is what cause the delay of a couple of hours, sometimes making the fatal difference. There is a need for more research and development to be done in this regard so that people knew when it was the right time to go to the doctor and how the delays can be avoided.
