FDA Alarms Spinbrush Users to be Careful

FDA Alarms Spinbrush Users to be CarefulThe Food and Drug Administration has warned everyone to stop using electric toothbrushes, as per a report revealed recently. It is being said by the administration that the Spinbrushes that are highly used by children and adults can hurt the teeth instead of improving their health.

It has been recommended by the FDA that the use of Arm & Hammer’s Spinbrush or the electric toothbrushes should be used with care by people. Also, it has advised that parents, whose children use spinbrush, should guide and supervise them while they brush.

The FDA has found that Spinbrush could cause severe harms in the mouth and to the teeth. It was found by the team of analysts from the FDA that the spinning heads of the brushes that are operated by battery can pop off in the mouth all of a sudden. Also, it could chip a tooth of its user or might cause a cut in gums.

Thus, the group has warned people, especially adults and children, that they should be extra careful while using the Spinbrush. It revealed thereafter that along with the cuts, the spinning heads might fly in the eyes or may even stuck in the throat.

A woman told about her drastic experience with the brush, saying while she was brushing her teeth, the spinning head suddenly broke off and her tooth fell off. She told that it was a scary experience for her.

It has been found that many other people have also suffered similar conditions. “It does show you how to put the head on it, how to turn it on and off, and sometimes a malfunction can be caused because we don’t know how to use the spinbrush appropriately”, says Pediatric dentist Tandi Donaldson. Thus, the FDA has been strictly suggesting the company to add a message on the label of the brush, urging buyers to change its spinning heads every three months.
