These days a number of gadget manufactures have been following the trend of smaller screens. Following the footsteps, Apple has decided to experiment with a tablet with a small screen.
The experiment would be conducted in the Asian market. It has been informed that the screen would of 8-inches. Last year, Apple launched iPad2 with9.7-inch screen. The screen resolution of the coming new gadget would be similar to that of iPad2.
It has come to light that the gadget thus formed would run over fourth-generation wireless networks from Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc. Apple is hopeful that the experiment would prove lucrative as it would be help it in collecting revenue.
An analyst from Capital Securities, Diana Wu is hopeful that the experiment would increase the market share value of Apple. Diana Wu said, "Samsung's 5.3-inch Galaxy Note and Amazon's 7-inch Kindle Fire have been selling well. It means consumers want a tablet that is smaller than the existing 9.7-inch iPad. IPad's features are good enough but pricing would be an important factor.".
Although Apple is planning to go ahead with smaller iPads, Apple's co-founder, Steve Jobs in 2010 expressed his disinterest in going ahead with smaller tablets. The demand of iPhone and iPad has been escalating in the past few months. Following the increased demand, the share of Apple has witnessed a jump.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the US and European regulators have given green signal to Google to go ahead with its $12.5 billion deal of purchasing Motorola Mobility. Moreover, Google has announced that about 30 million Iranians have been abstained from using Gmail, Google Videos, and YouTube. Since February 10, about 30 million Iranians have not been able to use the Google's sharing sites.
