It has been recently revealed in a report that early farming being done by the majority of farmers these days is the major reason behind the dynamic nature of the climate. It has been revealed by Germain Bayon, a French geochemist, that early farming activities carried out in Central Africa might be one of the reasons for the disappearing act that the rainforests have been performing recently.
The rainforests have been replaced by the Savannas, which are broader form of grasslands that have shrubs and trees.
Deforestation has been a combined result of all the recent farming activities that have been harming the natural make up of the grasslands. There has been soil erosion as well.
It has been revealed, according to a study, that about 3500 years ago there were huge rainfall patterns in the country, but the weather and rainfall saw a major decoupling some 3000 years ago, as revealed by Bayon.
The meaning of this study is that it's not just the climate that is responsible for the deforestation. It's actually due to over agriculture as well. The farmers have been trying too hard to get the soil to cultivate, and this is also one of the reasons for the devastating and deteriorating nature of forests.
"The results of the analysis of the core clearly show that the intensity of erosion chemical in the Congo Basin has fluctuated along with regional variations rainfall over the past 40,000 years", revealed the authors of the study which was conducted by the team from Ifremer.
It was further added that the intensity of chemical erosion on the site has fluctuated in the past 40,000 years.
