The Vomiting Bug Hits Cruise

Crown-PrincessIt has been recently revealed in a report that the ship, in which there was the outbreak of a stomach virus, has finally set sail from the South Florida coast with new passengers on board. The name of the ship is the Ruby Princess and the cruise company is of the view that as many as 92 passengers together with 13 crew members were affected by the Norovirus, which had symptoms such as stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea.

It was revealed that the ship returned to the Port of Everglades on Sunday and is now all set to sail. The ship has been thoroughly disinfected and the passengers don’t need to worry about catching the infection now. It was further added that another ship, called the Crown Princess has been down with the similar infection. The cause or origin of the infection isn’t known for now. It was revealed by Julie Benson, a Spokesperson for the cruise firm, that the ship returned to the port on Saturday, and then set sail later on.

It was further revealed that the public areas as well as the cabins in the ship have been cleaned and disinfected, and this might tend to have a little effect on their schedules, as they might run a little late.

There is need for a thorough analysis to be done on the infection sources of the disease in both the ships. There is need to determine where it is coming from. It is essential that the disease is avoided with the help of thorough disinfection, otherwise the passengers, who might be out for a holiday, are bound to get affected by this vomiting bug soon. It can tend to keep a person in bed for weeks, and it is essential that any further spreading of the disease is avoided through combined efforts of the passengers and the authorities.
