What could be better than the New Zealand Drug Foundation's FebFast fundraiser to make a pause to incessant drinking? It is being said that there are many like Aucklander Andrew Grear who are gearing up to quit drinking for a month just to be part of the noble cause. The event is told to make one stop drinking for the month of February.
It has been further confirmed that this year, beneficiaries would be Evolve (Wellington), Rainbow Youth (Auckland), CareNZ (Waikato), and the ADHD Association. It is necessary for those who are interested to be part of the event to visit www. febfast. org. nz to know more about the event. This not only supports many organizations to spread the cause but also make one detoxify their body, as for the rest of the year, they drink carelessly.
The 27-year-old Air New Zealand call centre employee is of the view that this event is sort of personal challenge for him as it’s not that easy for him to resist red wine. But, now he is all determined to beat his crave for a drop of red wine. This is not for the first time that he has taken part in this event, as it is believed that last year; he had taken part in this event after he was forced by his friends. However, this time, the case is quite different as he feels that he must be part of such cause which could not just benefit others but can do a lot to make him healthy.
"It was really hard because I do enjoy a glass or two of wine several times a week. I'm so used to coming home and opening a bottle, it was quite an adjustment, but I'm glad I did it”, said Andrew Grear, who is also part of Rainbow Youth.
