It has been recently revealed in a report that there is a set of new guidelines for heart patients. This time, it isn’t about keeping themselves fit and healthy for longer period of time. It’s actually about having sex. The U. S. researchers are of the view that heart patients who can walk briskly, or can walk about 2 flights of stairs, without showing any signs of fatigue can safely have sex as well.
It was revealed by Dr. Glenn Levine, of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, together with his colleagues, that even after having been diagnosed of a heart disease, people might safely have sex, after their condition is declared stable. They need to have a comprehensive test conducted under the guidance of a health care practitioner, and only then they can retry having sex.
These new guidelines have been published in the Journal of the American Heart Association.
People certainly tend to put a halt on their normal daily activities when they are diagnosed of a heart problem. However, these new guideless will surely be able to help the patients better. They can now enjoy their sexual life, even after being diagnosed of a heart disease. It is essential however that the guidelines of the doctors are taken care of.
These guidelines are of the view that most heart patients might be allowed to have sex, after a thorough assessment f their heart health.
It was revealed by Levine that the risk of a heart attack seems to double, when a person is sexually active. “However, this increased risk of heart attack during sexual activity represents only a very small part of a person’s overall risk of having a heart attack, and sexual activity is the cause of less than 1 percent of all heart attacks”, he added further.
