It has been revealed that women who opt for IVF treatment has lowered chances of experiencing miscarriage as compared to those who don’t opt for. The information pertains to the efficiency of IVF treatment in reducing the chances of miscarriage was published in the online journal Reproductive BioMedicine.
A review was conducted over 52,874 pregnancies of New Zealand and Australia. It was found that pregnancy with fresh blastocyst transfer lowers the chances of miscarriage by 8%. However, the frozen embryo treatment still has higher chances of miscarriage.
The review was conducted by the researchers of New South Wales University. In the online journal, the researchers wrote, “…perinatal outcomes are associated with a practice model which includes transfer of a single blastocyst and freezing of cleavage embryos in fresh cycles; and in subsequent thaw cycles, transfer of a single blastocyst cultured from these thawed-cleavage embryos”.
It has also been found by the researchers that age also plays vital role in pregnancy. A young woman has lower chances of receiving miscarriage as compared to elder woman. However, it is important to note that only 2% of the cases have higher chances of receiving miscarriage.
There is need to conduct further research so that better way of preventing miscarriage could be found. The IVF treatment for long has been under controversy as a number of pregnancy fails. A number of unfortunate couples opt for IVF treatment to achieve pregnancy.
It has been informed that the researchers are now emphasizing over the flow of blood to gauge as to how the flow of blood affects the conception rates and subsequent miscarriage. There are many factors which affects miscarriage. The woman’s health history and health complications also play vital role in miscarriage.
