For a large number of folks all over the world, the New Year starts with things like this: I will lose weight this year or will quit smoking or maybe drinking for sure and many more self promises like that. Do you remember something? Yes, maybe you must have made a few of those before the start of this year. New Year resolutions are common part of our lives as we all make a few of them, no matter we make them public or not. But, the main thing is who follows their resolutions through the next 365 days. The majority of people do not, revealed Richard Wiseman, who is psychologist.
His survey has revealed that 52% of resolution makers were 100% sure that they would be able to achieve their set targets, but only 12% of them registered success in doing so. Women are found to lazier than men in accomplishing their goals.
About 47% of women are found to forget about their New Year resolutions as soon as the first month of year passes on. One of the survey respondents said she sets target every year but in reality, she never follows them.
However, there are some who affirmed they have made New Year targets as well as achieved them. Jade Daniels, 24, said she decided to lose weight and by the end of 2011, she could confidently say that she has lost considerable amount of weight.
This success has given her boost to bet larger and that is the reason she has decided to cut on sugar intake as she is diabetes patient. But being sweet tooth, she ignored doctor’s recommendation. No more, said she.
Another 20% people said they have never made New Year resolutions as they do not find any connection between promises and January 1. There are some who after seeing previous year’s resolution failures have stopped making further resolution. So this New Year’s resolution is that there is no resolution.
Still if you are the one who is thinking to be having New Year resolution then set your goal and follow it step -by -step with full sincerity.
