Google on Monday posted its game-day search stats with a view to unveil the information that millions of football fans were most interested in before, during, and after the pigskin spectacular.
Google has never relied on television commercial to publicize its products; however, it did grab the support of TV to promote its Chrome Web browser last year. Those commercials, which were developed by Google’s Japanese employees, first aired on the YouTube video site.
The Super Bowl, held at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, lowered the Indianapolis Colts against the New Orleans Saints for the National Football League championship. The Saints won 31-17.
Schmidt signaled that the Super Bowl commercial was coming last week, saying in a Twitter update that he couldn’t wait to watch the game. “Be sure to watch the ads in the third quarter”, he said.
Advertisements for free products, including Dockers pants and Denny's Grand Slam breakfasts, resulted in a spike in Dockers- and Denny's-related searches during the game, Google reveals.
And which commercial did YouTube fans select as their Favorite 2010 Super Bowl Ad? You'll have to wait until February 17 to find out.
