The rugby world cup is going on, and Te Waka Maori on the waterfront of Auckland has flooded with visitors. In the first week, around 240,000 people have visited Te Waka Maori. Te Waka Maori is an exhibition area designed in the shape of a boat which is worth $2 million. Waka Maori can accommodate 600 people at a time. Tomorrow is a holiday, so the organizers on this day are expecting two people every second to enter from the gates of Waka Maori; such intensity will fill the area in just 10 minutes.
The organizers shared that Waka Maori is spread over a small area which could be easily covered in 10 minutes. On October 21, 1015 people visited Waka in just 30 minutes. On this date a French business group was present at Waka, in order to welcome the group fire dance and Hawaiian knife was being performed at the gate of Waka.
In order to welcome the rugby teams of All Blacks and Maori All Blacks, various entertainment programs were organized. All the people visiting Waka Maori were served really well and were welcomed with smiles. Speaker of the event Ngarimu Blair said that the hosts are fulfilling their duty of welcoming the visitors very well, which makes him feel proud.
The ex-rugby team of All Blacks and Eric Rush, the star of team Sevens, also visited Waka Maori and both seemed to be very happy with the arrangements of the exhibition. The ex-team of All Blacks added that the exhibition refreshed all their memories, and also made them realize that they were once a part of very vital heritage.
