According to Epidemiologists, Swine Flu is likely to re-occur as the winters arrive. It is being notified that the virus can only be evaded if vaccination is taken up by people. The more possibility of its reappearance is in workplaces, homes and classrooms. Surprisingly, even after we came across so many cases of swine flu last year, sufficient vaccine is still available.
The H1N1 vaccine is being recommended by doctors before it again poses a serious threat. But general practitioner at Manly said, "There had not been a strong uptake".
Clarifying the rumors regarding the testing of the vaccine, Karin Hage, of Marina Medicentre said, "It's a normal flu vaccine and it has been tested like every other one, it has the same risks and benefits. There has always been concern but (the human swine flu) will most definitely come back in one form or another".
Although consultation fees may be charged by some doctors, but the vaccine is government-funded. Infants aged between six and 35 months are preferably offered free vaccination.
Queensland's Chief Health Officer, Jeannette Young, also alarmed children and pregnant women who are possibly more at risk.
