A land tax relief and an improved bottom line have been presented in the South Australian Labor Government's mid-year Budget review, and the details have been made public a mere weeks from the state poll which has been scheduled for March 20.
Under the new proposal, the land tax threshold will surge from $110,000 to $300,000 starting July, and the move will reportedly exempt about 75,000 people from the tax.
As has been announced by Treasurer Kevin Foley, thanks to the better property value estimate3s and improved GST grant receipts, SA has now managed to project deficit for the fiscal year of $174 Million.
Mr. Foley has clarified that he has wanted to introduce the changes for very long, and the move is not a "pre-election sweetener".
