"The Ministry of Health is failing in its duty towards the women of New Zealand", says Simonne Dyer, a Deputy Leader of the Kiwi Party. The remark seems to be an April
2009 study, conducted by Jessica Dolle from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre, examining the relationship between abortion and Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in women, under the age of 45 years. National Cancer Institute (NCI) Researcher, Louise Brinton and her colleagues concluded that abortion raises breast cancer risk by 40%.
"TBNC is an aggressive form of breast cancer and although the study was published 9 months ago, the MOH and Family Planning Association have made no efforts to reduce breast cancer rates", says Dyer.
The researchers proved that women who start taking Oral Contraceptives before the age of 18 years, are more prone to TBNC.
There have been five successful lawsuits against doctors (performing abortions), for not telling the women about the odds of getting cancer. Researchers claim, that women who have had a miscarriage are not affected by this 40% increase in breast cancer. But those who have had an abortion fall into chances of getting breast cancer.
