HP to produce limited number of TouchPads in Q4

HPA few weeks after confirming its decision to pull the plug on the TouchPad tablet, HP has announced that it produce a limited number of TouchPads during the fourth quarter of this year.

Using his blog, HP’s 2011 social media strategist Mark Budgell revealed that the company would produce a small number of the webOS-based tablets to meet the phenomenal demand.

Announcing the decision, Budgell wrote, “Despite announcing an end of manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand.”

However he added that they did not know about the exact number of the tablets to be produced, and their availability.

The company may introduce an order limit to prevent people from bulk buying and selling them to make huge profits.

TouchPads flew off the UK store-shelves shelves last month when retailers hacked the tablet’s price from its peak of £350 to merely £89 and £115 for the 16GB and 32GB versions respectively.
