Poll Reveals Porn More "Morally Acceptable" than Illegal Downloading of Copyrigh

A new poll has revealed that most of the New Zealanders believe that secretly viewing pornography online, even when one is married, is more "morally acceptable", as compared to downloading of copyrighted content like music and videos.

Carried out by Wellington market research company UMR Research, the poll questioned New Zealanders about their stance on internet-related moral issues.

It was discovered that 21% of the people involved felt that it was alright for a married person to view porn online without telling their spouse about it. The figure was higher than the 18% who believed that downloading copyrighted music, without paying, was acceptable, and 13% who though that downloading of copyrighted videos, without having to pay for them, was alright.

31% people said that it was acceptable to watch copyrighted TV programs on YouTube or similar and 82% of the participants said that they thought it was alright for single people to indulge in internet dating.

69% of the people said that they believed that it was acceptable for a single person to flirt online.
