It’s believed that patients coming at the NYU Langone Medical Center are being given special treatment; perhaps the reason is even more intriguing. As per reports, replacing the existing cumbersome procedure of patient registration, NYU Langone Medical Center has become the first medical centre in the Northeast to adopt biometric infrared scanning system, creating a welcome change in the administration.
PatientSecure, though has been deployed at other 10 U. S. hospitals, allows patient to place his hand on a small box, which creates a unique identifying palm portrait, to be used for instant registration in the form of a electronic health record.
To some it might sound more of an astrological tool to read the future of a patient, the newly developed technique peeps into the enmeshed system of veins of user’s hand.
With this system making reverberation both in and outside the hospital, patients are really impressed with this. Michael Baldwin, 55, a patient at NYU Langone, claimed, “It's immediate and instantaneous. Never in my life have I experienced health care like this before. NYU Langone's 100% integrated healthcare system is like a small city that's all connected”.
Apparently, the new technique can prove out to be a great help for registering an unconscious patient, besides being a more refined system of management of medical records.
