Caffeine Craving is Genetic
Coffee has been considered as a blessing by most of us. Early in the morning, if we do not get our cup of coffee we feel bad throughout the day. People do not mind waiting in the early morning queues at the nearest Starbucks outlet for a cup of coffee. It is believed by most of the people that the craving of caffeine is completely natural and depends on personal preferences.
As per a new research, it has been confirmed that the craving of caffeine is related to the DNA of a person. The research was done by researchers from Harvard, the National Cancer Institute and other venerated institutions of biological science.
The researchers claim that the caffeine genes are of two types. The first is known as CYP1A2 and the second is AHR. The researchers confirmed that CYP1A2 has always been considered as having a connection with the caffeine metabolism. The second gene called AHR plays a role in regulating CYP1A2.
As per the researchers, every human being has both the genes but they are not exactly of the same kind. It was seen that people with CYP1A2 consumed an average of 38 milligrams more than the normal.
This is definitely a progressive research as it will help doctors and people understand the caffeine craving better.
