New Antibiotic Resistant Generation of Bugs Cause of Worry

New Antibiotic Resistant Generation of Bugs Cause of WorryNew super generation of bugs is evolving that is more resistant to antibiotics and poses a serious danger to medication system. There are growing numbers of cases that report growth of antibiotic resistance bacteria and to whom doctors and scientists have no answer.

NDM1 is considered first among the generation of superbugs that first surfaced in India and now there are numerous other drug resistant bugs. MSRA is one such bacterium that belongs to super generation which is drug resistant and causes skin infection.

Uncontrolled and unregulated use of antibiotics has led to the evolution of these superbugs as it gives them opportunity to develop immunity against these antibiotics. Although there is proper and regulated system for antibiotic use in West but in countries like India and Thailand, the drugs are available over the counter without any doctor prescription or diagnosis.

Even for viral infections, there is tendency among people to consume antibiotics. Microbiologist Louise Slaughter, an American Congresswoman said that livestock are also fed with antibiotics so that they get healthy animals and grow faster. This give bugs more opportunities to evolve resistance.

This is a reason for worry because antibiotic resistance impact both medical and financial costs. It results in longer and more serious illness and complicates the treatment procedure. It lengthens patients’ stay at hospital and may cause death.
