The scar of swine flu has raised its ugly head again in Venezuela. As per reports, almost 482 people were diagnosed with H1N1 influenza and another three lost their life this year.
With the infection taking a toll over the health of the people, Health Minister, Eugenia Sader confirmed the infection in 189 people in Merida, 112 in Caracas and 181 in the other states.
If the reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) are considered, around 18,500 people were infected due to H1N1 virus in April 2009.
Moreover, health experts believe that in almost 70% of the H1N1 cases, patients have earlier health concerns like diabetes, kidney and heart disease, and asthma which adds to the severity of H1N1.
According to the medical experts, H1N1 attacks the immune system of the body resulting in sore throat, stuffy nose, body aches, chills, fatigue, fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
Though the symptom of the H1N1 varies between adults and children’s, many doctors recommended vigilance to the early signals so that potential damage to the health can be averted.
Further, doctors suggested that even after taking the vaccination, patients should stay away from public places so that the infection is not transferred to other people.
