The famous bachelor whose relationship has been followed all the time has spent his Valentine’s Day morning at the East Avenue Medical Centre, visiting the new inaugurated facilities at the government hospital. This new facility called “Tahan-tahanan”, was inaugurated by President Benigno S. Aquino III at the EAMC in Quezon City.

The facilities EAMC included the new facility known as “Tahan-tahanan”, which is a “half-way home” for children suffering with cancer. As stated by Dr. Marvie Abesais, EAMC head of medical services This “Half-way home”, is for helping those children to get treatment for cancer who live outside the metropolis. Here the children can stay with one parent or a caretaker to seek treatment with cost free boarding and lodging along with enrichment programs like arts & crafts, sports, music, theatre and dance.

The new facility has been equipped with Central Sterilization Unit (CSU) which will reduce the hospital-acquired infections and two X-ray machines where fluoroscopy in real time can be carried out.

Tahan-tahanan is located at the basement of EAMC, this basement was previously used as drug rehabilitation centre. This has a various rooms painted in pastel colors and large art works, a kitchen, pantry and dining room and a large multi-function room. All rooms are equipped with new bunk beds.

Dr. Abesamis, also stated that this Half- way home will give an opportunity to children to continue their studies through home schooling and the guardians staying with these children will also be trained to help them support them once they leave after treatment.
