Cassini Captures Earth’s Image

Earth-ImageNASA's Cassini spacecraft, orbiting the Saturn planet, has come up with a new image on July 19, 2013. The image, as per a new report, shows Earth. NASA has interpreted the same with a lower right, white arrow, below the rings of the Saturn.

In a montage of 33 footprints, the picture is just one footprint that covers the whole Saturn ring system. Saturn itself is included in the same.

Visitors Gather at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles to Wave at Cassini Spacecraft

Cassini-Spacecraft.NASA's Cassini spacecraft took pictures of earth from nearly 900 million miles away on Friday. There were about 300 visitors gathered on the lawn of Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles to wave at the aircraft.

Laura Danly, who is a curator at the observatory, picked up a bullhorn and invited the visitors to go outside for the cosmic photo shoot. Around 100 hands waved into the air as soon as Danly said to greet Cassini.

A team of researchers determined 26 new credible black holes in the globular clusters around the center of Andromeda. The team of researchers was led by Robin Barnard of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge Mass.
