In a field trial that has essentially been aimed at providing Everything Everywhere and BT a clear insight into how the 4G technology is likely to perform in the rural areas, nearly 200 residents of Cornwall are being given access to 4G LTE services.

Bowing to pressure from telecoms regulator Ofcom, BT Openreach has slashed pole and duct access prices.
Last year BT Openreach agreed to provide rival broadband providers with access to its infrastructure. But tariffs, announced by it in January this year, encountered severe criticism for being too high.
BT offers 110Mbps broadband service

British telecoms giant BT has launched a new 110Mbps broadband service in selected areas of the country, in a move that is expected to trigger broadband speed race.
To begin with, the service will be available only to 60,000 household that falls under the jurisdiction of six exchanges in Milton Keynes, Ashford, Chester, St Austell, York and north London.

BT signs contract with BASF to offer IT services in over 80 countries

Telecoms giant BT has signed an international agreement worth 200 million euros with chemical group BASF to provide networked IT services in more than 80 countries around the world.
Under the agreement, which will run over seven years, BT will interconnect BASF’s as many as 900 sites, including the sites of chemical firm Ciba, which BASF acquired recently.
