Asus preparing to introduce another iPad 2 rival in October

Asus is reportedly preparing to launch another Apple iPad rival, the second-generation of the Eee Pad Transformer, sometime around October this year.
Sources suggest that the next-generation Eee Pad Transformer will be thinner, lighter and faster than the current Transformer. In addition, it will offer a better battery life.

Electronics giant Asus used ongoing Computex trade show in Taiwan to show its ultra-portable 11-inch Asus UX laptop and Eee PC X101 netbook.
The 11-inch Asus UX, which has an aluminum alloy case, is clearly designed to challenge Apple’s MacBook Air. Like Apple’s MacBook Air, the device makes use of SSD hard drives and has an instant-on resume feature.
ASUS picks SanDisk U100 drive for its ultra-thin UX Series notebook

SanDisk Corp, a flash memory storage solutions provider, has announced that ASUS has decided to equip its new UX Series ultra-thin notebook with the U100 solid state drive, the successor to the popular SanDisk P4 modular SSD series.
Asus Teases smartphone-tablet hybrid

Electronic giant Asus has used its Facebook page to post a teaser about a potential smartphone-tablet hybrid that will be unveiled at the upcoming trade show Computex.
Asus' teaser about the new device does not make it clear whether it is talking a single device that blends capabilities of both a tablet as well as a smartphone, or the teaser is about two devices that work in collaboration with each other.
Asus Eee Pad Transformer’s competition with Apple iPad 2

Jon Rettinger over at Technobuffalo has posted a 22-minute long comparison video that pits the Asus Eee Pad Transformer against Apple’s second generation tablet- the iPad 2.
The video available online shows the iOS tablet competing against the Android tablet in a total of six rounds, viz. operating system, screen, speed, browser, applications and intangibles.

Asus on Friday launched its brand new Android-powered 10.1-inch Eee Pad Transformer tablet that comes with a full keyboard dock that gives a laptop-like experience.
The convertible Android 3.0 Honeycomb-based Eee Pad Transformer’s 10.1-inch WSVGA LCD offers resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. The screen has IPS technology and capacitive multi-touch support.
