English says-No more asset sales after next electionThe New Zealand government became a majority shareholder in Air New Zealand in 2002, when it stepped in to save the carrier from collapse.

New Zealand's government is to sell a 20% of its stake in the  national carrier Air New Zealand, leaving it with a 53% holding.

Air NZ sale not yet decidedThough business analyst Brian Gaynor mentioned on Thursday that there is a strong possibility for the Government to sell off part of its stake in Air New Zealand in the next couple of weeks yet no confirmation has been received from the government.

The Government intends to sell51%  out of the 73% that it owns  as part of its asset sale programme, but has not given any indication about the time.
