Starbucks COO will Not Return to the Coffee Chain

On Tuesday, Starbucks said that its Chief Operating Officer Troy Alstead is not returning to the company.

Troy Alstead had gone on an indefinite leave of absence one year back. He was one seen as the company's second-in-command after Howard Schultz, Starbucks CEO. The executive's resignation was effective from February 29.

Alstead took a 'coffee break' as Starbucks would call it one year back, citing that he wanted to spend more time with his family.

On Tuesday, Presley told his employees that he was suffering from a very treatable form of leukemia. He also said that he plans to continue as the CEO of the Toano-based flooring supplier along with taking treatments for his illness. His treatment will continue for the time being in a hospital in the Richmond area which was not named by him.
