Place right checks and balances online to ensure children’s safety: says Wales commissioner

There is a need to put the right checks and balances in place to ensure that children are safe online, Keith Towler, children's commissioner for Wales, said.

Towler said young people are sometimes much more savvy in the use of Internet than their parents but they needed to know their limits on the Internet.

In a recent radio interview, the commissioner stressed that children and young people were unable to make a distinction between their online and offline lives.

BlackBerry Q10 to come 8-10 weeks after full-touch Z10 smartphone

The BlackBerry Q10, which will feature a physical keyboard, may consume 8-10 weeks after the release of the full-touch BlackBerry Z10 smartphone to become available in the U. S. market.

As the BlackBerry Z10 is expected hit U. S. stores around mid of March this year, the Q10 will therefore become available in the country sometime in to mid-May to early June.

The 8-10 weeks holdup in the arrival of the Q10 was announced by Research in Motion (RIM) Chief Executive Thorsten Heins in a recent interview.
